Abstract
La iglesia católica ha reconocido el influjo de los medios masivos y de la comunicación social por lo
que ha publicado diferentes documentos pontificios con referencias específicas a la comunicación, uno
de ellos fue el Decreto Inter Mirifica, a través del cual, crea las Jornadas Mundiales de Comunicación
Social (JMCS), los mensajes papales en estas jornadas han configurado una doctrina social sobre la
comunicación y sus medios, reflexionando sobre sus implicaciones educativas, culturales y sociales, y,
manifestando el pensamiento de sus autores: San Pablo VI, San Juan Pablo II, Benedicto XVI y Francisco,
sobre los temas tratados por cada uno de ellos..
El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar las posturas de los Papas respecto a la Comunicación y el
Cambio social en sus mensajes a las JMCS de 1967 a 2023, pasando por la selección y extracción de las
307 citas analizadas, hasta llegar a los resultados y conclusiones por medio del análisis de contenido

The Catholic Church has recognized the influence of the mass media and social communication, which is why it has published different pontifical documents with specific references to communication, one of them was the Inter Mirifica Decree, through which it created the World Days of Communication. Social Communication (JMCS), the papal messages in these days have configured a social doctrine on communication and its means, reflecting on its educational, cultural and social implications, and, expressing the thoughts of its authors: Saint Paul VI, Saint John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis, on the topics discussed by each of them. The objective of this work was to analyze the positions of the Popes regarding Communication and Social Change in their messages to the JMCS from 1967 to 2023, going through the selection and extraction of the 307 quotes analyzed, until reaching the results and conclusions. through qualitative content analysis.
