Abstract
subjetiva
This research aimed to understand how identity is constructed from experiences of domestic violence and the meanings attributed to gender models observed in their family environment. The study employed a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic phenomenological design, using a purposive sample of 12 participants between 18 and 21 years of age, residing in Soacha, Cundinamarca, who had experienced or witnessed domestic violence. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed through an interpretive process supported by guiding categories and the use of Atlas.ti software. The findings demonstrate that domestic violence significantly impacts participants' self- perception, interpersonal relationships, and identity construction, although active processes of questioning, reinterpreting, and rejecting the violent models observed in the family were also observed. In conclusion, adolescent identity in contexts of violence is not passively shaped, but rather is a dynamic process in which suffering, interpretation, and the possibility of subjective transformation converge.
