Abstract
This project aims to offer a reflective perspective, from a communicative approach, on what happens within social networks, especially on the Twitter platform. Many of these tweets are used to generate controversy. We will make a semiotic analysis of a "meme" that has been a trend in recent months, we refer to the video: Tia Paola, a clip popular in social networks and immediately interpreted as racist, since in the same video we find an Afro-descent child and in this he addresses the word to his relative that is "Tia Paola". Apart from taking it as a tender video, users adapt it to a meme that incites racism, putting as an example, the image of a celebrity or anyone with an Afro-descent phenotype and in its legend or text accompanied within the publication are the words: Tia Paola. So we analyze why the video has been taken badly, from mocking comments to the same speeches that incite racism.
