Efecto de la actividad física aeróbica en el bienestar emocional de personas con diagnóstico de esquizofrenia: una revisión documental

| dc.description.abstract | Antecedentes: La esquizofrenia tiene un impacto en el bienestar emocional, que se manifiesta a través de cambios en la regulación emocional y el estado de ánimo. El efecto específico de la actividad física aeróbica en el bienestar emocional ha sido escasamente estudiado, a pesar de que se han observado beneficios de este tipo de ejercicio para la salud mental. El objetivo de esta revisión es examinar esa relación. Métodos: Se realizó una revisión documental cualitativa en Scopus y Consensus (2025), enfocada en esquizofrenia, ejercicio aeróbico y bienestar emocional. De 179 registros, tras el proceso adaptado visualmente del modelo PRISMA se seleccionaron 16 estudios. La información se organizó en matriz y se sintetizó narrativamente. Como limitación, no se aplicó una escala formal de calidad. Resultados: Se incorporaron 16 investigaciones (metaanálisis, revisiones sistemáticas y ensayos clínicos). En general, demuestran que el ejercicio aeróbico mejora la función cognitiva y el estado de ánimo y reduce los síntomas de ansiedad y depresión. Los beneficios fueron mayores en las intervenciones combinadas (terapia cognitiva + ejercicio). No se llevó a cabo un metaanálisis, ya que los beneficios favorecen de manera constante al grupo que hace ejercicio. Discusión: Los resultados apoyan el ejercicio aeróbico como intervención adicional para optimizar el bienestar emocional en pacientes con esquizofrenia. No obstante, la evidencia tiene limitaciones: falta de evaluación del sesgo, ausencia de análisis directo del bienestar emocional y heterogeneidad en la metodología. Es necesario aplicar métodos más rigurosos y realizar investigaciones concretas sobre este constructo. | |
