Abstract
School dropout is a latent problem that is notably evident at the Colegio Técnico Agropecuario Nuestra Señora de la Paz, in the municipality of Matanza Santander. After the post-pandemic period, this situation became more visible, as individuals decided to abandon their educational training. Considering the above, the objective of this project focused on identifying the causes of post-pandemic school dropout in this institution. To achieve this, a qualitative analysis of documents was conducted using the inductive method. Additionally, Participatory Action Research was considered, as members of the educational staff participated in the process. As a result, the main finding is that, despite the fact that the teaching staff at the Colegio Técnico Agropecuario Nuestra Señora de la Paz employs innovative pedagogical strategies that help reduce school dropout, the impact of these strategies is weak and limited due to the lack of institutional policies or because the teaching staff has not been trained in these types of approaches. Therefore, an educational project is required that links these approaches transversally to improve teacher training, establish sufficiently effective problem detection systems, and promote the shared responsibility of families, the educational community, and public entities. To effectively reduce dropout rates, it is essential to address the minimum material conditions related to transportation, food, and access to technological resources, as well as to implement flexible methodologies, hybrid models, and personal development programs. National policies on subsidies and food have managed to reduce school dropout, but their effectiveness is limited due to weak connections with other sectors such as health and employment.
