Abstract
pertenecientes mayoritariamente a estratos socioeconómicos bajos estratos 1 y 2.
General GHQ-12, adaptado a población colombiana.
proceso formativo
This work was carried out at the Minuto de Dio University Corporation, which aimed to analyze the relationship between institutional barriers in the assignment of professional practices and emotional symptomatology in psychology students. A quantitative approach with a correlational scope was used, involving 24 eighth and ninth semester students, mostly belonging to low socioeconomic strata, strata 1 and 2. An 18-item Likert-type survey of perception of institutional barriers and the GHQ-12 General Health Questionnaire, adapted to the Colombian population, were applied. The results showed a strong negative correlation Rho = -0.79 between satisfaction with access to internships and emotional symptoms: the lower the satisfaction, the greater the psychological distress, average GHQ-12 = 16.71, above the cut-off point 12. The main barriers identified were economics, lack of remuneration, transportation, food and material costs, and difficulty in reconciling internships with work, family, and academic responsibilities. It is concluded that institutional barriers act as significant stressors that affect the emotional wellbeing of practitioners, which can lead to disengagement from the training process
