Abstract
San José, la capital de Costa Rica, enfrenta un grave problema de manejo de residuos plásticos, con una producción diaria de 564 toneladas de desechos plásticos, de los cuales solo una pequeña fracción se recicla. Este problema está relacionado con la urbanización creciente, la falta de educación ambiental y la gestión ineficiente de los residuos. La contaminación plástica afecta el medio ambiente, la salud pública y aumenta los costos en sectores como la construcción, que depende de materiales tradicionales caros. Para mitigar estos problemas, se propone analizar la viabilidad de los ladrillos plásticos reciclados como una alternativa sostenible en la construcción en San José. Este estudio busca identificar estrategias de marketing para promover la exportación de estos ladrillos desde Colombia a Costa Rica, considerando el marco regulatorio, las oportunidades comerciales y la cadena logística. El objetivo es reducir la contaminación plástica, fomentar la construcción sostenible Los resultados de la investigación demostraron que la exportación de ladrillos plásticos reciclados desde Colombia hacia San José, Costa Rica, es una opción viable y beneficiosa tanto para el medio ambiente como para la economía local. Se identificaron oportunidades comerciales favorables, un marco regulatorio adecuado y estrategias de marketing efectivas para posicionar los ladrillos reciclados en el mercado de la construcción sostenible. Además, la cadena logística se evaluó como eficiente, lo que facilita la exportación y distribución del producto, los hallazgos sugieren que esta alternativa puede contribuir a la reducción de la contaminación plástica y fomentar la innovación en la construcción en la región.
San José, the capital of Costa Rica, faces a severe plastic waste management issue, producing 564 tons of plastic waste daily, with only a small fraction being recycled. This problem is linked to rapid urbanization, a lack of environmental education, and inefficient waste management. Plastic pollution impacts the environment, public health, and raises costs in sectors such as construction, which relies on expensive traditional materials. To mitigate these issues, the viability of recycled plastic bricks as a sustainable construction alternative in San José is proposed. This study aims to identify marketing strategies to promote the export of these bricks from Colombia to Costa Rica, taking into account the regulatory framework, business opportunities, and the logistics chain. The goal is to reduce plastic pollution and promote sustainable construction. The research findings demonstrate that exporting recycled plastic bricks from Colombia to San José, Costa Rica, is a viable and beneficial option for both the environment and the local economy. Favorable business opportunities, an appropriate regulatory framework, and effective marketing strategies were identified to position recycled bricks in the sustainable construction market. Furthermore, the logistics chain was evaluated as efficient, facilitating the export and distribution of the product. The findings suggest that this alternative can contribute to reducing plastic pollution and foster innovation in construction in the region.
