Abstract
La presente investigación tiene por objeto la ejecución de un estudio en torno a los imaginarios y representaciones de las personas mayores del municipio de San Carlos en los ámbitos cultural, familiar, socioeconómico y sociopolítico de su papel en la construcción de su entorno. Para esto, el objetivo de esta indagación fue identificar los imaginarios y representaciones sociales que tienen los adultos mayores del municipio de San Carlos frente a su proceso de envejecimiento. En su construcción conceptual esta investigación se orientó por el análisis de las categorías particulares asociadas a los conceptos de vejez, envejecimiento y las representaciones sociales del proceso de envejecimiento. Metodológicamente este estudio se llevó a cabo desde la atención al enfoque cualitativo y aun tipo de investigación correlacional-descriptivo que se materializó en la aplicación de entrevistas que permitieron la recolección de historias de vida a partir de las cuales presentar un análisis que dio como resultado la concreción de imaginarios y representaciones del envejecimiento acordes al contexto de estudio que sirvió a la construcción de esta investigación.
The purpose of this research is to carry out a study on the imaginaries and representations that the elderly of the municipality of San Carlos have in the cultural, family, socioeconomic and socio-political spheres of their role in the construction of their environment. For this, the objective of this research was to identify the imaginaries and social representations that the older adults of the municipality of San Carlos have regarding their aging process. In its conceptual construction, this research was guided by the analysis of the particular categories associated with the concepts of old age, aging and the social representations of the aging process. Methodologically this study was carried out from the attention to the qualitative approach and even a correlational-descriptive type of research that materialized in the application of interviews that allowed the collection of life stories from which to present an analysis that resulted in the realization of imaginaries and representations of aging according to the context of study that served the construction of this research.
