Abstract
Las redes sociales son plataformas virtuales que facilitan la comunicación y el intercambio de información a nivel global. Aunque presentan ventajas evidentes, su uso excesivo puede tener impactos negativos al absorber gran parte del tiempo de los usuarios. Este estudio tiene como objetivo indagar el impacto y las causas del uso de las redes sociales en estudiantes universitarios del programa de Administración de Empresas de la Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios, sede Soacha.
Se realizó una revisión literaria, donde se identificaron estudios pertinentes a la investigación sobre las redes sociales, centrándose en el impacto en los universitarios y temas afines. Para este estudio, se optó por un enfoque mixto, que combina elementos cualitativos y cuantitativos, caracterizado por ser de tipo descriptivo y analítico. La muestra se compuso de 198 estudiantes de la modalidad presencial y 8 docentes del programa.

The objective of this study is to investigate the impact and causes of the use of social networks in university students of the Business Administration program of the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios, Soacha campus. A literature review was conducted, where studies relevant to research on social networks were identified, focusing on the impact on university students and related topics. For this study, a mixed approach was chosen, combining qualitative and quantitative elements, characterized by being descriptive and analytical. The sample consisted of 198 students of the on-site modality and 8 teachers of the program. A survey was used as a data collection instrument, which provided relevant information to analyze the use of social networks in the university context.
