Abstract
The main objective of this work is to carry out an analysis of Latin American journalism and its impact on literature based on the creation and dissemination of micro-stories, taking as a reference journalists published in Venezuela, Peru, Mexico and Colombia. Therefore, it develops a qualitative 7 study of a descriptive type, taking as a reference documentary research, samples of short stories written by journalists and the judgment of an expert in the field. The results showed that these short narratives capture moments of everyday life, deep reflections and sometimes a humor that arises from unexpected situations. The themes addressed in these micro-stories are varied, from loneliness and isolation to solidarity and resilience, demonstrating the relevance that Latino authors have in this model of writing. In addition, it was possible to demonstrate that there is a relationship between journalistic news and micro-stories associated with length, because micro-stories and news share their scarcity of words and their sense of brevity, but that they vary in their direction since journalists exclude fiction and stick to reality. For this reason, it is concluded that it is not possible to speak of a trend of journalists for the writing of short literary works, but of a digitized society that has been evolving and that demands increasingly short and direct messages from writers in general.
