Abstract
This research focuses on the serious issue of child labor, particularly within the context of the Graffitour, located in Comuna 13 of Medellín. The main objective is to raise awareness and analyze the importance of addressing this situation not only from the perspective of reducing its occurrence, but also through a broader understanding that includes its causes, consequences, social perceptions, and the factors that contribute to its persistence and normalization. Although this issue is acknowledged, it has been pushed into the background, often concealed or justified under terms such as “entrepreneurship,” “artistic demonstration,” or “street art.” In this regard, the research seeks to promote a critical analysis that helps to understand how the participation of children and adolescents in economic activities within this tourist environment negatively affects their educational, social, and personal development. Furthermore, it reflects on the crucial role that society plays in either reproducing or preventing this phenomenon—either by facilitating its continuation through the legitimization of such practices, or by acting as a defender of children's rights, promoting safe environments that support their comprehensive cognitive, emotional, and social development.
