Abstract
This study addresses the environmental and social impact of road infrastructure projects in the locality of Puente Aranda, Bogotá D.C., focusing on residents' perception of these effects. The problem lies in the fact that, despite the potential benefits of road infrastructure, its implementation can generate negative consequences in vulnerable communities, affecting quality of life, citizen participation and social equity. This research is developed under a methodological approach that is fundamentally mixed. This implies the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, which allows obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the environmental and social impacts of road infrastructure projects in Puente Aranda. It is crucial to define the methodology as mixed, as this combination not only enriches data collection, but also facilitates a more complete analysis by merging statistics with community perceptions and experiences. This approach ensures that the complexities of the issue are addressed, providing a solid basis for the study's conclusions and recommendations. The methodology adopted is descriptive-correlational, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Structured surveys and focus groups were conducted to collect data on residents' perceptions. The surveys included closed-ended and open-ended questions, while the focus groups allowed for a more in-depth discussion of participants' experiences. Data collection was carried out at strategic points in Puente Aranda, such as Parque San Eusebio and Calle 26. Subsequently, data analysis was conducted using JASP software, applying descriptive and inferential techniques, as well as qualitative analysis of the focus group transcripts.
