Abstract
The sale of red has been an economic activity that has taken place in many places in Colombia, coffee has always represented this country. Medellín is a city that stands out for trade in particular the city center, the Berrio Park has been very significant, where other economic activities have been carried out such as: Market square, meeting point, as a cultural place that has welcomed diversity of people. In this there is a group of women tinters, who are working as informal workers. The purpose of this research was to know the social and labor conditions of the tinteras of the Parque de Berrio. This research was developed under the interpretive paradigm through the interrelation with the subject and his environment. The type of research was qualitative, understanding from the subjectivity and two techniques were developed which were observation and semi-structured interview, a sample was made at the convenience of three women tinteras Parque de Berrio in which it was evidenced that the craft of being tintera in downtown Medellín, in Parque de Berrio, is a self-fulfilling task and places women in vulnerable situations such as crime, harassment, labor disputes and health problems. Despite this, they find in their work a sense of utility and empowerment, playing multiple roles as caregivers, friends, mothers or partners, impacting their environment in a significant way. Although their work involves sacrifice and challenges, these women have left their mark in both their trade and their homes, showing courage and resilience, though they often do not stop to reflect on their own experience due to the demands of their day-to-day lives.
