Abstract
The primary objective of this study is to analyze the impact level of burnout syndrome and stress on domestic workers in the city of Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. This essential yet undervalued labor group faces informal and precarious working conditions, lacking access to basic benefits and suffering from a notable lack of recognition. Through a non-experimental mixed-methods approach with a descriptive scope, the levels of stress and burnout within this population were investigated. The study employed the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) to evaluate 18 domestic workers. The results indicate that a lack of role clarity, long working hours, excessive workload, and lack of control over the work process are key factors that increase stress and burnout levels. The conclusion is that it is essential to implement equitable labor policies and management practices that value the contributions of domestic workers, establishing clear boundaries in terms of hours and responsibilities. This research highlights the need for interventions to improve working conditions and promote the overall well-being of domestic workers in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, providing empirical evidence that could influence the implementation of more just and equitable public policies and labor regulations.
