Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo describir la influencia de Facebook e Instagram en la autoestima de mujeres jóvenes de 18 a 30 años en el municipio de Bello. Utilizando un diseño fenomenológico hermenéutico con enfoque cualitativo, se aplicó como instrumento la entrevista semiestructurada para recolectar información. Los resultados indicaron que Facebook e Instagram, ejercen una influencia significativa en la construcción de la autoestima femenina, teniendo en cuenta las tendencias y contenidos relacionados con la imagen corporal y la vida perfecta, los cuales generan repercusiones negativas en la autoaceptación y valoración personal. Además, se identificó que la crítica y comentarios ofensivos entre mujeres normalizan esta problemática afectando perjudicialmente la salud mental. Finalmente, el estudió reveló que esta influencia no está ligada necesariamente al tiempo de uso, sino al manejo de contenido y paginas seguidas las cuales al ignorar los daños potenciales se constituyen como factor de riesgo para la mujer.
The objective of this research work was to describe the influence of Facebook and Instagram on the self-esteem of young women between 18 and 30 years old in the municipality of Bello. Using a hermeneutic phenomenological design with a qualitative approach, the semi-structured interview is applied as an instrument to collect information. The results indicated that Facebook and Instagram exert a significant influence on the construction of female self-esteem, considering the trends and content related to body image and the perfect life, which generate negative repercussions on self-acceptance and personal valuation. Furthermore, it was identified that criticism and offensive comments among women normalize this problem, detrimentally affecting mental health. Finally, the study revealed that this influence is not necessarily linked to the time of use, but rather to the management of content and pages followed which, by ignoring potential harm, constitute a risk factor for women.
