Abstract
If the past were no longer important for understanding the present and building the future, research and investigations that provide clues about how humanity's ancestors lived would be suspended. The histories of the communities that inhabited the territory now known as Antioquia seemed to be hidden. The lack of knowledge of pre-colonial humanity has brought rejection, discrimination, and disconnection from the other half of history to which they belong. It has seemed that understanding, recognizing, and teaching it were far from the realm of local education, despite the available communication tools. For nearly 40 years, Colombian History classes have faced various fates, first merging them with Geography and later integrating them into the Social Sciences. It was not until 2017 that then-President Juan Manuel Santos reestablished mandatory teaching of Colombian History as part of the Social Sciences curricula in primary and secondary schools. This project seeks to compile data on pre-colonial remains and the formation of the territory occupied by Guarne, to create a narrative universe that serves as a means of symbolic language for the inhabitants of this municipality in eastern Antioquia.
