Abstract
El proyecto aborda el alfabetismo digital entre adultos mayores en Ibagué y su influencia en el mercado, identificando desafíos y oportunidades económicas específicas. La evolución tecnológica ha transformado la vida de este grupo demográfico, enfrentando dificultades para adaptarse a las nuevas tecnologías y participar en la economía digital, afectando su acceso a servicios y participación económica. La investigación propone explorar cómo esta falta de habilidades tecnológicas se convierte en una barrera para su involucramiento activo en el mercado local. A través de una investigación cuantitativa se identifican los desafíos específicos que enfrentan al utilizar tecnología para actividades comerciales, así como el impacto que esto tiene en su acceso a bienes y servicios. Los resultados obtenidos revelan un potencial significativo en este grupo como futuros compradores, lo que subraya la necesidad de productos y servicios diseñados específicamente para satisfacer sus necesidades, esto se debe, en parte, a su grado de habilidades digitales y a la percepción que tienen de ellas. Asimismo, es crucial destacar su importancia en el mercado debido al poder adquisitivo que poseen como consumidores, lo que hace de este grupo un segmento clave para la economía local.
The project addresses digital literacy among older adults in Ibagué and its influence on the market, identifying specific economic challenges and opportunities. Technological evolution has transformed the lives of this demographic group, facing difficulties in adapting to new technologies and participating in the digital economy, affecting their access to services and economic participation. The research proposes to explore how this lack of technological skills becomes a barrier to their active involvement in the local market. Through quantitative research, the specific challenges they face when using technology for commercial activities are identified, as well as the impact this has on their access to goods and services. The results obtained reveal a significant potential in this group as future buyers, which underlines the need for products and services specifically designed to meet their needs, this is due, in part, to their degree of digital skills and the perception they have of them. It is also crucial to highlight their importance in the market due to the purchasing power they possess as consumers, which makes this group a key segment for the local economy.
