Abstract
En esta investigación se aborda la caracterización de la escena Ballroom en la ciudad de Medellín, Antioquia, y de esa manera enfatizando el reconocimiento, la representación, y las practicas artísticas que enfrenta la población LGBTIQ, el Ballroom va más allá del espectáculo, es un espacio seguro y de inclusión social para personas que han enfrentado discriminación, aquí los participantes crean sus casas que funcionan como familias elegidas, así mismo encuentran apoyo, amistad y orientación.
Las técnicas que se utilizaron como herramienta fueron la entrevista semiestructurada, que se aplicaron a participantes de la escena, la encuesta creada con 10 preguntas abiertas también dirigidas a los participantes, el Fotobooth con el propósito de analizar algunas imágenes ya que esta herramienta captura momentos significativos y profundos de sus experiencias vividas, y como ultima herramienta se utilizó el mapeo, el cual logro identificar los puntos de casas en la ciudad de Medellín creadas por los participantes como se mencionó al inicio del resumen. Así mismo es de tipo de investigación que se aplico es de manera cualitativa que posee un enfoque para explorar y comprender los fenómenos sociales desde una perspectiva profunda, y la teoría utilizada, es la teoría fundamentada permitiendo buscar desarrollar teorías sobre fenómenos específicos. Y por último el análisis se aplicó con los participantes activos de la escena que enfrentan desafíos para el reconocimiento de esta población.
This fac research addresses the characterization of the ballroom scene in the city of Medellín, Antioquia, and in that way emphasizing the recognition, representation, and artistic practices faced by the LGBTIQ population, the ballrooom goes beyond the show, it is a safe and social inclusion space for people who have ed discrimination, here the participants create their houses that function as chosen families, they also find support, friendship and guidance. The techniques that were used as a tool were the semi-structured interview, which was applied to participants in the scene, the survey created with 10 open questions also addressed to the participants, the photobooth with the purpose of analyzing some images since this tool captures significant and deep moments of their lived experiences, and as a last tool the mapping was used, which managed to identify the points of houses in the city of Medellín created by the participants as mentioned at the beginning of the summary. Likewise, it is a type of research that is applied in a qualitative way that has an approach to explore and understand social phenomena from a deep perspective, and the theory used is the grounded theory allowing to seek to develop theories on specific phenomena. And finally, the analysis was applied with the active participants of the scene who face challenges for the recognition of this population.
