Abstract
El aprovechamiento del tiempo libre en contextos educativos representa una oportunidad fundamental para los niños y niñas en el proceso de formación integral como estudiantes y el desarrollo de habilidades sociales, emocionales y cognitivas. Sin embargo, muchas instituciones educativas no logran dimensionar el valor de los beneficios, para los estudiantes y permiten que dediquen gran parte de su tiempo libre al uso excesivo de los dispositivos electrónicos o tecnologías digitales, lo cual limita su interacción con otros niños y limitan sus experiencias significativas.
En respuesta a esta problemática la presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal diseñar estrategias pedagógicas orientadas a optimizar el aprovechamiento del tiempo libre dentro del colegio Camacho Carreño sede B, del municipio de Suratá, Santander en los grados cuarto y quinto. Se enmarco un enfoque cualitativo, utilizando metodología de investigación-acción, usando registros y entrevistas abiertas a docentes titulares en virtud jerarquizar necesidades educativas de primera mano.
Se formularon estrategias basadas en el juego y actividades lúdicas como herramientas pedagógicas para promover el aprendizaje significativo, el fortalecimiento de vínculos interpersonales, espacios de convivencia escolar, dejando a un lado el abuso de las tecnologías e incentivando practicas educativas más dinámicas, creativas, inclusivas, que reconozcan el valor formativo del tiempo libre como parte del proceso educativo integral.
The use of free time in educational contexts represents a fundamental opportunity for children in their comprehensive development as students, as well as in the growth of social, emotional, and cognitive skills. However, many educational institutions fail to fully recognize the value of these benefits and allow students to spend much of their free time using electronic devices or digital technologies. This overuse limits their interaction with peers and reduces the possibility of meaningful experiences. In response to this issue, the main objective of this research is to design pedagogical strategies aimed at optimizing the use of free time for fourth and fifth grade students at Camacho Carreño School, Branch B, located in the municipality of Suratá, Santander. A qualitative approach was adopted, using action-research methodology. Data collection included open interviews and observational records with lead teachers to identify and prioritize educational needs firsthand. Strategies were developed based on play and recreational activities as pedagogical tools to promote meaningful learning, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and create spaces for school coexistence. These strategies aim to reduce the overuse of technology and encourage more dynamic, creative, and inclusive educational practices that recognize the formative value of free time as part of the overall educational process.
