Abstract
La presencia en una familia de un niño con algún tipo de discapacidad ya sea cognitiva o física, supone un cambio en las dinámicas familiares, esto es debido a que a estos niños se les debe dedicar más tiempo y atención, más que nada por parte de los padres y en gran parte de los casos, por las madres. Pero ¿cuál es todo el proceso, que, en este caso, debe enfrentar una madre desde el momento en el que recibe el diagnóstico de su hijo? ¿cómo es todo ese proceso de darse cuenta de que existe algo que no está del todo bien en un hijo?
La investigación indaga sobre las percepciones, sentimientos, emociones y capacidad de afrontamiento de dos madres con hijos con trastorno del espectro autista desde el momento del diagnóstico hasta la fecha; a partir de la investigación cualitativa con enfoque fenológico se logra por medio de técnicas como la entrevista en profundidad y la aplicación de instrumento de valoración de estrategias de afrontamiento, identificar los cambios que tuvieron que hacer en su vida, dejando en evidencia los vacíos y fallas que existen tanto en el sistema educativo como en los sistemas de salud.

The research investigates the perceptions, feelings, emotions and coping capacity of two mothers with children with autism spectrum disorder from the moment of diagnosis to date; From qualitative research with a phenological approach, it is achieved through techniques such as in-depth interviews and the application of an instrument for assessing coping strategies, identifying the changes they had to make in their life, revealing the gaps and failures that exist both in the educational system and in the health systems.
