Abstract
La inteligencia emocional ha sido un tema relativamente nuevo, con no mayor a 3 décadas, el cual
basa su interés en determinar el papel que cumple las emociones y su incidencia en la vida humana.
A razón de lo anterior esta investigación tuvo como fundamental problemática el indagar sobre la
relación existente entre la inteligencia emocional y el desempeño laboral en una empresa de la
ciudad de Tuluá (Valle), denominada Legón Telecomunicaciones, estas categorías que en
apariencia se encuentran en contraposición y que en teoría no tienen ningún nivel de relación. Este
trabajo se fundamentó en un enfoque metodológico cuantitativo que permitió analizar los
resultados de la prueba de riesgo psicosocial en la empresa arrojo resultados relacionados a los
procesos de riesgos psicológicos, emocionales y físicos, también durante el proceso se realizó un
análisis a la prueba de desempeño elaborada para la fecha del 2018 el cual mostro un bajo nivel de
desempeño. En este sentido se realizó un proceso de fortalecimiento emocional distribuidos en
talleres de reforzamiento los cuales fueron diseñados para solventar, tanto a nivel psicológico,
como a nivel emocional en los trabajadores de dicha empresa. Los resultados de esta intervención
fueron satisfactorios permitiendo aumentar el nivel de fortalecimiento emocional y fomentando
una cultura de auto-cuidado y protección de sí mismo. Se concluye que existe una relación
indirecta entre la inteligencia emocional y el desempeño laboral en la empresa, puesto que este
puede afectar u/o movilizar aspectos intrínsecos dentro de la actividad laboral.
Emotional intelligence has been a relatively new topic, with no more than 3 decades, which bases its interest in determining the role played by emotions and its incidence in human life. Due to the above, this research had as fundamental problem to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance in a company in the city of Tuluá (Valle), called Legon Telecomunicaciones, these categories that apparently are in contrast and that in theory they have no relationship level. This work was based on a quantitative methodological approach that allowed the results of the psychosocial risk test to be analyzed in the company, yielding results related to the processes of psychological, emotional and physical risks, also during the process an analysis of the performance test was carried out prepared for the date of 2018 which showed a low level of performance. In this sense, an emotional strengthening process was carried out, distributed in reinforcement workshops, which were designed to solve, both psychologically and emotionally, the workers of said company. The results of this intervention were satisfactory, allowing to increase the level of emotional strengthening and fostering a culture of self-care and selfprotection. It is concluded that there is an indirect relationship between emotional intelligence and work performance in the company, since this can affect or mobilize intrinsic aspects within work activity.
