Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the changes presented by the students ofthe Universidad Minuto de Dios in the approach strategies to establish interpersonal relationships and if indeed changes were presented, to determine which ones they were in the light of the evolutionary theory. The research is qualitative with an interpretative design. A typical purposive sampling was carried out and semi-structured interviews were conducted for data collection. The questions for these interviews were validated by two judges, teachers of the Psychology Program. Subsequently, interviews were conducted with ten male and female students of the ninth semester of the Psychology Program at the Minuto de Dios University. The results show that social isolation modified the students' strategies to establishinterpersonal relationships. Increasing the use of social networks, phone calls and decreasing face-to-face communication. As a conclusion, some students lost the social skills they had before social isolation in order to establish interpersonal relationships, increased the importance of social networks as one of the students' approach strategies, and began to value physical contact when generating new relationships
