Abstract
Comunicación y educación ambiental, una apuesta por cualificar el PRAE de la Institución
Educativa San Francisco de Asís en el municipio de Pereira, es un proceso abordado desde la perspectiva
de 7 docentes rurales, líderes del Proyecto Ambiental Escolar ubicado en el corregimiento de Arabia
para fomentar la apropiación de conocimientos ambientales en los estudiantes y promover la
transformación cultural ambiental de su comunidad educativa. Este proyecto de gestión desarrollado
durante la emergencia declarada por la COVID-19 en el mundo y meses después de haberse levantado
dichas medidas restrictivas para prevenir el contagio en Colombia, tuvo que afrontar todos los retos
propios de la ruralidad colombiana en la que, en vista de la suspensión de clases presenciales, buscó
formas de trabajo a distancia con sus estudiantes por la falta de conexión a internet que garantizara la
educación virtual de estos y con ello la continuidad en sus procesos de formación.
Es un proyecto de gestión construido con y para los docentes en el que a través de un
diagnóstico participativo realizado con toda la dedicación por parte de estos y de la facilitadora se logró
tener un desarrollo exitoso del Plan de Comunicación propuesto y del que se espera se puedan
continuar los compromisos asumidos durante el proceso por parte de los actores.
En cada etapa descrita en este documento podrá encontrar el protagonismo que tuvo la
comunicación como eje articulador de metodologías, perspectivas, reflexiones y construcción de nuevas
realidades
Communication and environmental education are a strategy to strengthen the Schoolar Environmental Project – PRAE from the school Institución Educativa San Francisco de Asís located in Pereira municipality, Arabia village. This process is addressed from the perspective of 7 rural teachers who are the leaders of the Schoolar Environmental Project. The objective of the present document is to foster the students’ appropriation of the environmental knowledge and promote the environmental cultural transformation inside their school. The project management was carried out during the COVID19 outbreak; hence it faced a series of challenges related to the reality of Colombian rural areas. In consequence of the cancellation of the presential classes, the process management had to stablish new communicative channels due to the lack of internet connection with the aim of guaranteeing the students’ permanence in their educational processes. This project management was built through a participative diagnosis that was executed by the facilitator and the teachers. As a result, the Project achieved a successful development regarding the Communication Plan which is expected to continue the assumed commitments during the process by the different involved people. At every described stage of the document, communication have the main role as articulating axis of methodologies, perspectives, insights, and new realities creation.
