Abstract
In order to maintain ethnobotany in the traditional use of natural pigments, in addition to contributing to the environment and ecosystem services, we evaluated the development of phytocosmetics using Achiote seed (Bixa orellana L. ) by means of pulverization and sieving methods until a fine powder was obtained after being subjected to disinfection processes with distilled water, 5% sodium hypochlorite and 5% ecological soap; as cosmetic preservatives of vegetable origin, the extracts of Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus L.) and Thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.), extracted through the methods of enfleurage and steam dragging. For this purpose, a multifactorial experimental design was established, implementing three methods of seed disinfection and two preservatives (solvent) in concentrations of 0%, 1%, 3% and 5% for a total of 48 treatments with 5 replicates, obtaining 240 evaluated samples. On the other hand, fungal microorganisms were identified that were not controlled by the preservatives mentioned above, such as Aspergillus sp., Penicillium sp., Geotrichum sp. and Glomerella sp. (sexual phase of Collechotricum sp.).
