Abstract
Yo, inmortal presents the life stories of Beatriz Méndez and Soraida Muñoz, relatives of three young victims of the extrajudicial executions commited by the colombian army, between 2002 and 2008 ( JEP, 2021a), the False Positives. From a critical and hermeneutic perspective, through the biographical method, we approached the strongest fragment of the story of these two women. This was done to pay homage to their life, their legacy, and the struggle they have undertaken to honor the name of their children. Incredibly overcoming their pain, these people have participated in the seek for justice; in the discovery of the truth; and in processes of reparation and non-repetition, to accompany other victims of this scourge. In addition to the two life stories, the book includes a chapter on historical contextualization; another section of theoretical, methodological, and legal reflections; and another of ethical reflection on what happened with the False Positives, based on Hannah Arendt’s concept of the banality of evil. The book concludes with an analysis of the current debate on truth-justice-memory-forgetfulness.
