Abstract
Street vendors in the Municipality of Sabaneta have increased in recent years due to the unemployment that has been generated in Colombia by several factors, including the migration of foreigners and even more the situation due to the worldwide pandemic by COVID-19, which has left so many families without a fixed livelihood to survive. This is why the Secretary of Government has allowed the legalization of those street vendors who have been working for a long time in certain parts of the municipality. However, these people have been vulnerable to different factors to which they are exposed on a daily basis when they are carrying out their activities. Therefore, we as students of the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios have conducted this study aimed at this population in order to identify the conditions in Safety and Health at Work in prevention issues. Obtaining as a participatory instrument the analysis of 50 surveys of street vendors located in different neighborhoods and villages of the Municipality of Sabaneta, which allowed us to make a statistical survey to identify shortcomings in health conditions and prevention activities to help mitigate problems related to their welfare work. The result of this study showed us that there is a big gap in Safety and Health at Work issues for this population because according to the interpretation and analysis of the results of the survey applied, there are not many aspects in prevention issues in Safety and Health at Work that can mitigate that this population is vulnerable to many risk factors in their workplace, which makes a call to government and non-government entities to implement measures, strategies in Public Health and prevention activities involving this sector of the economy of the Municipality of Sabaneta.
