Abstract
The research paper addresses the importance of fine motor skills in child development, especially in the early school years, highlighting their impact on children's autonomy, social integration, and academic performance. The need to stimulate these skills from an early age is emphasized, using pedagogical approaches and educational games, as suggested by Piaget's theories. In Colombia, comprehensive child development has gained relevance, highlighting the collaboration between school, family, and society to enhance learning. The study, focused on the Colegio Mentes Brillantes in Pitalito, Huila, examines the relationship between fine motor skills and learning, addressing how difficulties in this area affect school performance and the need for specific pedagogical interventions. The methodological framework of the study is qualitative and exploratory, providing the basis for identifying patterns and developing future educational research on the subject. In addition, the legal and ethical framework that ensures the well-being of children in the Colombian educational context is highlighted. Fine motor skills are key to child development, especially in educational processes in schools, where children with developed motor skills can be identified and those who need additional stimulation. Improving fine motor skills makes children more independent, confident and active in their school activities, which contributes to better academic performance and comprehensive development. Specialized educational methodologies and games are essential to enhance these skills, which are also linked to cognitive development.
