Abstract
El presente proyecto de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la prevalencia de alimentación emocional en jóvenes universitarios del Valle de Aburrá durante el año 2024. A través de un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo, se recopilarán datos mediante la aplicación del Cuestionario de Comedor Emocional de Garaulet, validado para población hispanohablante. La población de estudio estuvo compuesta por 534 estudiantes de universidades públicas y privadas ubicadas en los municipios del Valle de Aburrá. El tipo de muestreo fue por sujetos voluntarios. Se garantizo el cumplimiento de los principios éticos de la investigación en psicología, incluyendo consentimiento informado, confidencialidad y respeto por la autonomía de los participantes
Los resultados muestran una alta prevalencia de algún nivel de alimentación emocional siendo factores que influyen el ser mujer, estudiar y trabajar al tiempo entre otros, asimismo, podrán servir como insumo para políticas institucionales y regionales orientadas a mejorar la calidad de vida de los estudiantes y prevenir trastornos alimentarios relacionados con factores emocionales.
This research project aims to analyze the prevalence of emotional eating among young university students in the Aburrá Valley during the year 2024. Using a descriptive, quantitative approach, data will be collected by administering the Garaulet Emotional Eating Questionnaire, validated for the Spanish-speaking population. The study population consisted of 534 students from public and private universities located in the municipalities of the Aburrá Valley. The sampling method was voluntary. Compliance with the ethical principles of psychological research was guaranteed, including informed consent, confidentiality, and respect for the autonomy of participants. The results show a high prevalence of some level of emotional eating, with factors such as being female, studying and working at the same time, among others. The results may serve as input for institutional and regional policies aimed at improving students' quality of life and preventing eating disorders related to emotional factors.
