Abstract
Microcredit in Colombia has become an ally to promote financial inclusion and thus improve the quality of life of thousands of microentrepreneurs through access to sources of financing. In the last decade, it has been observed that the microcredit portfolio has grown at a higher rate than the total portfolio of the Colombian financial system and, in the same way, its past-due portfolio indicator. This work seeks to identify the main determinants of credit risk in the portfolio of an entity in the municipality of Pitalito-Huila, for this purpose the concept of soft information is used, which includes socioeconomic variables of the debtors and the microenterprise to determine the probability of default occurrence. Using the multinomial logit methodology, it is found that for the study, there is statistical evidence in favor of the hypothesis that variables such as age, type of client, gender, city, term, disbursed amount and installment value have a significant relationship with delinquency.
