Abstract
This research focuses on the etiology of drug addiction called drug addiction from psychoanalysis, relating it to failed oral development and the inability to generate calm in himself. Mania to the toxic is associated with pleasure, enjoyment and desire, and can lead to the disappearance of the latter. The research seeks to understand the relationship between drug addiction and desire from contemporary psychoanalytic postulates, and provides tools to integrate the phenomenology of the subject and its relationship with the drug object. In psychoanalysis, desire is difficult to fulfill as it continually slips away and is based on accepting one's incompleteness. The mania to the toxic can generate the illusion of satisfying the desire, but it is only a temporary illusion. This work analyzes the relationship between drug addiction and desire from a contemporary psychoanalytic perspective and finds that drug addiction has not been addressed from a psychological perspective. The enjoyment, speaking of the compulsion to repetition is a specific concept related to instinctual satisfaction and drug addiction, and may be motivated by a need to escape painful sensations or by lack of access to healthier and more sustainable sources of enjoyment over time.
