Abstract
The research project focused on the Monseñor Víctor Wiedemann Educational Institution explored the influence of traditional and adapted games on the cognitive and social development of third-grade students. Using methods such as observation sheets, semi-structured interviews, and field diaries, the study examined how these games enhance learning and promote effective social interaction. The results indicate that traditional games provide entertainment and are crucial for developing important cognitive and social skills. These games facilitate social interaction and promote critical skills such as decisionmaking and problem-solving, supporting theories that emphasize practical and social learning. Furthermore, activities that require a creative and strategic approach, as observed in various observation sheets, not only capture the students' attention but also promote deeper and more meaningful learning. Additionally, integrating games into the school curriculum has proven to be an effective strategy to enrich the educational experience. The field diary revealed how innovation in traditional games can facilitate the teaching of complex academic concepts in a comprehensible and appealing manner, significantly improving students' understanding and interest. The research also highlights the importance of teacher training in playful methods and suggests further studies to explore the effectiveness of games in different educational contexts. Moreover, it proposes the development of teaching resources that use games as a learning tool and the publication of a hybrid journal to disseminate effective pedagogical strategies. This study underscores the pedagogical value of games, which not only facilitate academic learning but also promote personal and social development, offering a more integrative and holistic educational approach that prepares students to face various challenges in life.
