Abstract
In this research, the coffee bean harvesting process was examined manually in a rural population of Sevilla Valle del Cauca, with the aim of identifying possible musculoskeletal disorders that may be suffering, for this the RULA and GINSHT methods were applied. respectively to evaluate the forced postures and manipulation and manual transport of load to workers of the beautiful farm in the village of San Antonio, the results obtained by the implementation of the methods yielded decisive figures for the accomplishment of the investigative work since it was possible to identify that a non-tolerable risk is generated requiring urgent changes in the development of the work activity as a result of the evaluation, since coffee harvesters carry out their work in a single position for a prolonged period of time and in addition to this they transport sustained to their body a handmade basket that filled in its entirety reaches With a weight of 15 kilograms, the condition of the work in bipedal position was identified that is generating an intradiscal pressure of 220% and the position of the work element is generating a forced anteversion of the pelvis, these factors that appear by the development of the activity is the possible trigger for the onset of occupational diseases, which is why a design of a postural protection element was created as a solution strategy that possibly allows the reduction of the risks present in the activity.
