Abstract
This project aims to prevent suicide in student environments in the city of Ibagué, where in recent years there has been a significant increase in suicide attempts among teenagers aged 14 to 17. Given this problem, the goal is to identify individuals who may have mental health issues and thereby reduce the number of suicide cases. To achieve prevention and detection of potential cases, a program is proposed that involves offering free consultations at educational institutions in 10 schools in the 5th and 9th districts of Ibagué. The aim is to identify young people with mental disorders or problems and refer them to the appropriate authorities. To facilitate this diagnosis, the "Happiness Tents" program is introduced, which uses recreational activities such as storytelling, comedy, theatrical performances, etc., to attract students and provide services with experts. The program is designed to conduct studies for detecting mental health issues and preventing suicide through three layers of intervention: prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation, wherever the program reaches.
