Abstract
The present research will evaluate the factors that are generating Burnout syndrome in emergency department workers at the Pedro León Álvarez Diaz Hospital in the municipality of La Mesa, focusing on identifying its risk factors and consequences, as well as proposing effective prevention and management strategies. An exhaustive investigation was carried out by means of sociodemographic profiles and a questionnaire, collecting data on the existence of Burnout syndrome, associated work and personal factors, and impacts on health and work performance. The results reveal a high incidence in the dimension of personal fulfillment, especially among staff with nursing assistant positions in a higher proportion of female gender. Among the risk factors identified were overwork, lack of organizational support, scarcity of resources and lack of recognition. Consequences of Burnout include mental and physical health problems, absenteeism, and decreased quality of care. Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed for the implementation of preventive and supportive interventions, such as stress management training programs, promotion of a healthy work environment, encouragement of social support, and recognition of work performed. It is concluded that addressing Burnout in health personnel is essential to ensure their well-being and improve the quality of care provided to patients in the Tequendama region.
