At a higher education institution located in Yopal, Casanare, where faculty members face various work-related challenges that impact their well-being and performance, this study focuses on preventing burnout syndrome and strengthening workplace well-being. Its purpose was to design a preventive program aimed at mitigating the effects of burnout, a disorder that affects the mental health and quality of life of faculty members, considering the potential influence of variables such as age and type of employment (tenure-track, part-time, or hourly). A quantitative methodology was used, through the application of the Psychosocial Risk Factor Assessment Battery, adjusted to Resolution 2764 of 2022 of the Ministry of Labor and validated by the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), a widely validated instrument for measuring the syndrome, in a sample of 30 faculty members. The results indicate that 42.9% of participants perceive very high levels of stress. Although overall MBI scores were low, it was evident that hourly teachers had higher levels of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and low personal accomplishment compared to full- or part-time teachers. These findings highlight the need to implement an intervention program focused on managing psychosocial risks and strengthening teacher well-being, with special attention to the working conditions of hourly teachers.
