Abstract
This research evaluated the impact of soft skills on leaders of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) in Sabaneta, aiming to propose training strategies that strengthen human talent management, staff retention, and organizational productivity. The problem arises from the evidence of limitations in skills such as assertive communication, empathetic leadership, and emotional management, which negatively impact job performance and organizational climate. The study adopted a descriptive, mixed-methodological approach, supported by surveys of SME leaders and semi-structured interviews with human talent managers. Theoretical and empirical analysis identified priority soft skills and their relationship with administrative effectiveness and organizational sustainability. The results reveal a marked deficiency in key interpersonal skills, which impacts employee turnover, low motivation, and decreased performance. In response, a training action plan was proposed based on the findings and expert recommendations, integrating customized training programs for soft skills development. In conclusion, it is established that the absence of soft skills significantly limits human talent management and the achievement of organizational goals. The proposed plan offers a viable path to strengthening leadership and improving performance in manufacturing SMEs in Sabaneta.
