Abstract
La adolescencia es una etapa del desarrollo humano marcada por profundos cambios emocionales, cognitivos y sociales. En este periodo, la presencia de figuras significativas como el padre desempeña un rol crucial en la consolidación de la identidad y la estabilidad emocional. La ausencia paterna, ya sea por abandono, separación o muerte, puede dejar huellas importantes en los adolescentes, afectando su autoestima, su regulación emocional y su manera de establecer vínculos afectivos. Esta investigación, de enfoque cualitativo con fundamento en la psicología cognitiva, exploró las vivencias emocionales de tres adolescentes de Girardota que han vivido la ausencia de su padre. A través de entrevistas semiestructuradas y un análisis basado en categorías construidas desde la teoría cognitiva, se identificaron emociones predominantes como tristeza, rabia e indiferencia, así como estrategias de afrontamiento desarrolladas para resignificar esta ausencia. Los resultados evidencian la diversidad de narrativas construidas por los adolescentes, resaltando la importancia de acompañar estos procesos emocionales para favorecer su desarrollo integral.
Adolescence is a critical stage of human development, characterized by profound emotional, cognitive, and social changes. During this period, the presence of significant figures such as the father plays a crucial role in consolidating identity and emotional stability. The absence of the father, whether due to abandonment, separation, or death, can leave significant marks on adolescents, affecting their self-esteem, emotional regulation, and ability to form affective bonds. This research, with a qualitative approach grounded in cognitive psychology, explored the emotional experiences of three adolescents from Girardota who have experienced the absence of their father. Through semi-structured interviews and an analysis based on categories constructed from cognitive theory, predominant emotions such as sadness, anger, and indifference were identified, as well as coping strategies developed to resignify this absence. The results highlight the diversity of narratives constructed by the adolescents, emphasizing the importance of supporting these emotional processes to foster their integral development.
