Abstract
Creativity is a possible response to the profound social, economic and global changes that have occurred in recent decades and to the uncertainty of the future that awaits us. Since creative skills enable students to cope with the complex nature of life, creativity has become important in education and is considered an important goal to be addressed in school curricula. However, creativity is not always promoted in schools. On the contrary, there are those who claim that many educational systems hinder creativity. In fact, institutional pressures often prevent teachers from engaging in creative teaching practices and make innovation and transformation not the main curricular focus when building learning scenarios and experiences. In addition, mechanisms are lacking to help teachers adopt pedagogical strategies that foster creativity and little importance has been given to the factorsthat make teachers reluctant to incorporate innovative practicesto modify curricula in favor of a more active and participant education and even in awakening their own creative spirit.
