Abstract
Abstract In the academic field, the dissemination of knowledge constituted an essential component of professional practice, since a research study was not considered complete until its results were communicated with clarity and scientific rigor. Under this premise, academic writing was conceived as a tool that allowed the sharing of findings and the contribution to disciplinary and social advancement. In this context, the monograph titled “Strengthening Family Resilience in Contexts of Vulnerability through Psychosocial Support in Itagüí” was developed as a partial requirement to obtain the degree of Psychologist. Its purpose was to analyze the role of psychological and community support in strengthening family resilience among households linked to the Familias Resilientes project in the municipality of Itagüí. The study was based on the recognition of multidimensional poverty as a complex phenomenon that went beyond economic limitations, directly affecting mental health, family cohesion, and emotional coping capacity. Through a qualitative approach and a case study design involving a sample of beneficiary families, instruments such as the Multidimensional Poverty Index (IPM-Colombia), semi structured interviews, and directobservations were applied to identify the main psycho-emotional difficulties and coping strategies used in vulnerable contexts. The results showed that psychosocial support contributed to strengthening intrafamilial communication, reorganizing family roles, improving emotional management, and rebuilding bonds, fostering a climate of trust and well-being. These findings highlighted the relevance of community psychological intervention as a fundamental tool to promote family resilience, emotional balance, and the sustainability of social transformation processes. In conclusion, the research reaffirmed that overcoming poverty could not be separated from emotional well-being and that family resilience was consolidated as a key axis linking material, psychological, and relational conditions. Strengthening the psychosocial dimension of social programs thus represented a significant contribution to human and community development, emphasizing the role of psychology not only as a discipline of observation but also of social transformation. The research reaffirmed that overcoming poverty cannot be separated from emotional well-being, and that family resilience is consolidated as a connecting link between material, psychological, and relational conditions. Hence the importance of strengthening the psychosocial dimension of social programs.
