dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación tiene como propósito analizar las percepciones de los estudiantes de grado 11° de la Institución Educativa Horacio Muñoz Suescún de Medellín frente al área de Educación Artística y su relación con otras asignaturas del currículo escolar. Bajo un enfoque cualitativo y una tipología descriptiva, el estudio busca comprender cómo es valorada esta área dentro de la educación secundaria y media académica, y qué lugar ocupa en la formación integral del estudiante. Se reconoce el valor del arte en la educación básica, secundaria y media académica como una herramienta esencial para el desarrollo de habilidades cognitivas, emocionales y sociales, incluyendo la creatividad, la empatía, la memoria y la resolución de problemas. No obstante, esta área enfrenta limitaciones como la escasa formación especializada de los docentes, la falta de recursos, y la asignación reducida de horas dentro del plan de estudios. La investigación también examina el desarrollo académico de la educación en las artes, evidenciando cómo esta área puede fomentar procesos de aprendizaje significativos cuando se implementa con metodologías activas y contenidos relevantes. Asimismo, se analiza la formación y actitud del docente de artística frente a sus estudiantes, identificando cómo la motivación del profesorado, su preparación pedagógica y su valoración del arte inciden directamente en la percepción y participación estudiantil. Por otro lado, se profundiza en la transversalidad de la educación artística, explorando las conexiones que los estudiantes identifican entre esta área y otras materias como ciencias sociales, ética o literatura. Esta visión interdisciplinar fortalece el papel del arte como un eje integrador dentro del currículo escolar. Mediante técnicas como la observación, entrevistas semiestructuradas y cuestionarios aplicados a una muestra de 31 estudiantes, se obtuvieron datos cualitativos y cuantitativos que permitieron identificar percepciones variadas: algunos estudiantes valoran el impacto positivo del arte en su desarrollo personal, mientras que otros la perciben como una asignatura secundaria o poco útil. Estos hallazgos evidencian la necesidad de diseñar estrategias pedagógicas que revaloricen la enseñanza artística y promuevan una mayor conciencia sobre su importancia en la educación contemporánea.
dc.description.abstractThis research aims to analyze the perceptions of 11th-grade students at the Horacio Muñoz Suescún Educational Institution in Medellín regarding the Art Education area and its relationship with other subjects in the school curriculum. Using a qualitative approach and a descriptive typology, the study seeks to understand how Art Education is valued within secondary and academic high school education, and what role it plays in the student's overall development. The value of art in basic education, secondary, and academic high school is recognized as an essential tool for developing cognitive, emotional, and social skills, including creativity, empathy, memory, and problem-solving. However, Art Education faces limitations such as the limited specialized training of teachers, lack of resources, and the reduced allocation of hours within the curriculum. The research also examines the academic development of arts education, highlighting how this area can promote meaningful learning processes when implemented with active methodologies and relevant content. Additionally, it analyzes the training and attitude of art teachers towards their students, identifying how teacher motivation, pedagogical preparation, and their appreciation of art directly influence students' perceptions and participation. On the other hand, it delves into the cross-cutting nature of art education, exploring the connections that students identify between art education and other subjects such as social sciences, ethics, or literature. This interdisciplinary perspective strengthens the role of art as an integrative axis within the school curriculum. Using techniques such as observation, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires administered to a sample of 31 students, qualitative and quantitative data were collected that allowed for the identification of diverse perceptions: some students value the positive impact of art on their personal development, while others see it as a secondary or less useful subject. These findings highlight the need to design pedagogical strategies that revalue art education and promote greater awareness of its importance in contemporary education.
