This qualitative case study constitutes an approach to the self-management strategies carried out by eleven underground musicians from the city of Medellín, during the confinement by Covid 19 between the years 2020 to 2023. Due to the global confinement and the restrictions derived from it, the cultural sector was seriously affected during the pandemic. However, the artists present in this sample appealed to their creativity to reinvent themselves and project their works from cyberspace. The use of DAWs (Digital Audo Workstation), software for the recording and production of music tracks, allowed musicians to take advantage of long hours of leisure behind closed doors by producing new songs. Social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, together with virtual music distribution platforms, such as CDBaby or Distrokid, were the channels of communication with the outside world of underground independent artists. Consequently, the creation of content represented in posts, streamings, reels and stories bridged the gap to connect the artists with the audience, in order to position their artistic projects.
