Abstract
The present research aimed to explore how the transition to motherhood impacts female identity from a psychosocial perspective in a group of women aged 20 to 40, undergraduate students at Uniminuto Bello, during the year 2025. Using a hermeneutic phenomenological design with a qualitative approach, a semi-structured interview was employed as the data collection instrument. The results revealed that the participants do not perceive their female identity as something separate from their maternal experience, but rather as a dimension that is enhanced through it. Although they recognize difficulties in balancing their roles as mothers, students, and women, they emphasize that motherhood did not affect their academic performance or personal projects; on the contrary, it strengthened their sense of autonomy, courage, and personal fulfillment. In conclusion, motherhood is understood as a dynamic experience that enhances female identity, strengthens resilience, and promotes the integral development of university mothers.
