Abstract
La presente monografía analiza el significado de la experiencia emocional de mujeres adolescentes de 12 a 18 años que han sido institucionalizadas en un internado de Medellín, Colombia. A través de una metodología cualitativa fenomenológica, se busca comprender cómo estas adolescentes gestionan sus emociones y el impacto de su experiencia de institucionalización en su desarrollo emocional y psicológico. La investigación se justifica por la necesidad de entender las repercusiones de la institucionalización en la salud mental de estas jóvenes, así como la importancia de fomentar un entorno que promueva su bienestar emocional. Los resultados sugieren que la calidad de las relaciones interpersonales y la implementación de programas de educación emocional son fundamentales para mejorar la adaptación y el bienestar de las adolescentes institucionalizadas. Este estudio contribuye a la comprensión de cómo la experiencia de la institucionalización afecta las emociones y el desarrollo psicológico de las adolescentes. Además, los hallazgos podrían influir en la formulación de políticas públicas más efectivas en Colombia y guiar la creación de programas de apoyo psicológico y emocional más sólidos dentro del sistema de protección estatal. En conclusión, la investigación resalta la necesidad de abordar las experiencias emocionales de las adolescentes institucionalizadas, ya que su salud mental impactará en su desarrollo futuro como adultas en la sociedad.
This monograph analyzes the meaning of the emotional experience of adolescent women aged 12 to 18 who have been institutionalized in a boarding school in Medellín, Colombia. Through aqualitative phenomenological methodology, we seek to understand how these adolescents manage their emotions and the impact of their institutionalization experience on their emotional andpsychological development. The research is justified by the need to understand the repercussions of institutionalization on the mental health of these young women, as well as the importance of promoting an environment that promotes their emotional well-being. The results suggest that the quality of interpersonal relationships and the implementation of emotional education programs are fundamental to improve the adaptation and well-being of institutionalized adolescents. This study contributes to the understanding of how the experience of institutionalization affects the emotions and psychological development of adolescents. In addition, the findings could influence the formulation of more effective public policies in Colombia and guide the creation of more robust psychological and emotional support programs within the state protection system. In conclusion, the research highlights the need to address the emotional experiences of institutionalized adolescents, since their mental health will impact their future development as adults in society.
