Abstract
El plátano es un alimento esencial en la dieta colombiana y su producción ha sido principalmente para consumo interno y para la agroindustria. Se ha observado un cambio hacia un manejo tecnificado con el fin de mejorar rendimientos y reducir costos laborales.
Actualmente los productores enfrentan desafíos como el aumento en costos de agro insumos y condiciones climáticas adversas lo que ha creado la necesidad de mejorar la estandarización técnica de la producción y la importancia de la productividad y tecnificación para abrir nuevas oportunidades de mercado. El cultivo de plátano es vital para la economía campesina, la seguridad alimentaria y la generación de empleo en el agro colombiano.
La tecnificación de dicho cultivo puede mejorar la rentabilidad y sostenibilidad de la cadena productiva dejando muy buenos resultados para los pequeños, medianos y grandes productores.

Currently, producers face challenges such as rising costs of agricultural inputs and adverse weather conditions, which have created the need to improve the technical standardization of production. This highlights the importance of productivity and technical advancement to open new market opportunities.Plantain cultivation is vital for the rural economy, food security, and job creation in Colombian agriculture. The technification of this crop can enhance the profitability and sustainability of the production chain, yielding excellent results for small, medium, and large producers.
