Abstract
Este trabajo de investigación, tuvo como objetivo principal determinar los factores contribuyeron al crecimiento de la depresión en los adultos mayores de la Fundación Padre Mariano José, de La Ceja, Antioquia, durante el COVID-19, en que se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo con un diseño fenomenológico con alcance descriptivo; la entrevista semiestructurada fue el instrumento aplicado para una muestra poblacional de 15 participantes, entre las que se encuentran 10 adultos mayores y 5 empleados de la Fundación. En los hallazgos encontrado se evidencia que el COVID-19 incrementó la depresión de los adultos mayores de la Fundación Padre Mariano José, en el municipio de La Ceja, Antioquia, a causa de los sentimientos de soledad, tristeza, falta de contacto físico, ansiedad, miedo y alteraciones en sus rutinas. Además, de las estrategias implementadas, fueron un factor y eficaz para el mantenimiento del bienestar emocional y físico de los residentes, la respuesta rápida del equipo interdisciplinario que ayudó a la integridad y adaptabilidad durante las crisis.
The main objective of this research work was to determine the factors that contributed to the growth of depression in the elderly of the Padre Mariano José de La Ceja Antioquia Foundation, during COVID-19, in which a qualitative approach was used with a phenomenological design with a descriptive scope, the semi-structured interview was the instrument applied for a population sample of 15 participants. among which are 10 older adults and 5 employees of the Foundation. The findings show that COVID-19 increased depression in the elderly of the Padre Mariano José Foundation, in the municipality of La Ceja, Antioquia, due to feelings of loneliness, sadness, lack of physical contact, anxiety, fear and alterations in their routines. In addition to the strategies implemented, the rapid response of the interdisciplinary team that helped integrity and adaptability during crises was an effective factor in maintaining the emotional and physical wellbeing of the residents.
