Biomasa en Colombia: Aplicaciones Prácticas y Potencial Energético

La biomasa constituye una de las fuentes de energía renovable con mayor potencial en Colombia debido a su diversidad agrícola, forestal, pecuaria y urbana. Sin embargo, su aprovechamiento energético ha sido limitado, en contraste con el desarrollo alcanzado en otros países y con su contribución posible a la diversificación de la matriz energética. El presente estudio analiza el potencial energético de la biomasa en un entorno específico de Colombia, mediante la identificación de residuos disponibles, la estimación de su capacidad de generación y la evaluación de tecnologías de conversión apropiadas. La metodología incluye revisión bibliográfica, encuestas a actores locales y cálculos teóricos de conversión energética. Asimismo, se plantea un proyecto piloto como modelo replicable, basado en biodigestión anaerobia y gasificación. Este trabajo contribuirá a la discusión sobre transición energética en Colombia y propones lineamientos para proyectos piloto replicables en contextos similares
Biomass constitutes one of the renewable energy sources with the greatest potential in Colombia, due to its agricultural, forestry, livestock, and urban diversity. However, its energy utilization has been limited, in contrast to the progress achieved in other countries and its possible contribution to the diversification of the energy matrix. This study analyzes the energy potential of biomass in a specific area of Colombia, through the identification and characterization of available residues, the estimation of their generation capacity, and the evaluation of appropriate conversion technologies. The methodology includes a literature review, surveys of local stakeholders, and theoretical calculations of energy conversion. Likewise, a pilot project is proposed as a replicable model, based on anaerobic digestion and gasification. This work will contribute to the discussion on energy transition in Colombia and proposes guidelines for replicable pilot projects in similar contexts.

Analizar el potencial de aprovechamiento energético de la biomasa residual en un entorno local de Colombia, con el fin de proponer alternativas viables que contribuyan a mejorar la gestión de residuos orgánicos y a diversificar la matriz energética del país
