The municipality of Bello has been generally known in the Aburrá Valley as one of the sectors in which conflict is more ubiquitous, whether social, economic or political; it is a fairly complex zone since it has been characterized by drug trafficking, extortion, murder, torture, forced disappearances, invisible borders product of gang violence, etc. The inhabitants of Bello, whether workers or students, have been direct witnesses of these behaviors, as such they are the ones who have seen the impact on their lives and the lives of their families, from the collection of so-called “neighborhood watches” money made by gang members, to confrontations between rival criminal gangs. Many are the events that have violently marked Bello's history and although it seemed that things had improved, in the year 2019, a new all-time high wave of violence had resurfaced, terror that many had begun to forget. The Gestos Mnemes Theatre has made it possible to make art available to the inhabitants of Bello as a plea to talk about the conflict that has taken place not only in local communities, but also nationwide. This is how the intent to investigate the play, Memorias del olvido (Memories of Oblivion) directed by Francisco Bran and represented by students from the Minuto de Dios University Corporation, was born; presented for three consecutive days in the aforementioned theatre. All this with the purpose of recognizing and analyzing the strategies that the play uses to talk about the conflict, in order to determine its importance as a tool that leads to change and community development
