Un llamado del destino: Filosofía a través del videojuego Fallout New Vegas

Abstract

En este texto se plantea una reflexión acerca del mito del destino y lo que conlleva aceptar la existencia de tal mito como factor determinante de la realidad. Mediante el análisis de ciertas mecánicas del videojuego Fallout: New Vegas, se abordan diferentes perspectivas sobre lo que es el destino y lo que implica. La tensión entre el determinismo y el causalismo es la base de la argumentación que se desarrolla en este artículo.This text presents a reflection on the myth of destiny and what it entails to accept the existence of such a myth as a determining factor of reality. Through the analysis of certain mechanics in the video game Fallout: New Vegas, different perspectives on what destiny is and what it implies are explored. The tension between determinism and causalism forms the foundation of the argument developed in this article.
