Abstract
Esta propuesta de investigación precisa evaluar la vulnerabilidad sísmica y patológica del bloque de secundaria de la Institución Educativa Nuevo Horizonte en Girardot, Cundinamarca. Plantea una investigación que incluye la identificación y descripción de la patología existente, un análisis de la vulnerabilidad sísmica, y la determinación del potencial impacto de estos factores en la seguridad y estabilidad del bloque de secundaria, formulando recomendaciones para fortalecer la estructura y mitigar los riesgos identificados. Para alcanzar los objetivos del estudio se utiliza un método mixto, permitiendo la recopilación y análisis de datos, esta investigación es de tipo descriptiva, y usa como técnica de recopilación de información la inspección visual, visita a campo, ensayos no destructivos, levantamiento arquitectónico y topográfico, y conforme con el Reglamento Colombiano de Construcción Sismo Resistente – NSR-10, estos se procesaron con los programas MS Excel, AutoCAD y ETABS. De acuerdo con el análisis de resultados, es clave resaltar que, se ha determinado que la institución cumple con las dimensiones de sus elementos estructurales, clasificándola dentro del Grupo 3 de edificaciones indispensables. No obstante, se identifica la necesidad de una intervención arquitectónica para mejorar aspectos no estructurales y garantizar el confort de sus instalaciones.

However, the need for an architectural intervention is identified to improve non-structural aspects and guarantee the comfort of its facilities
