Technology and organization A systemic perspective of ICTs in Ecuadorian Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

The rise of information and communication technologies has created new conditions for the emergence of knowledge societies, understood as those communities that have virtually unlimited and immediate access to information, thereby contributing to promoting innovation, the progress of Its economy and human well-being. The Education and Science and Technology sectors have a fundamental role in the current national development agenda of Ecuador, they have been established as a government priority for their contribution to the achievement of changes in Ecuadorian society since the approval of the National Constitution of 2008     El auge de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación ha creado nuevas condiciones para la aparición de sociedades del conocimiento, entendidas como aquellas colectividades que disponen de un acceso prácticamente ilimitado e inmediato a la información contribuyendo con ello a impulsar la innovación, el progreso de su economía y el bienestar humano.  Los sectores de Educación y Ciencia y Tecnología tienen un rol fundamental en la actual agenda nacional de desarrollo de Ecuador, han sido establecidos como prioridad gubernamental por su contribución al logro de los cambios en la sociedad ecuatoriana a partir de la aprobación de la Constitución Nacional de 2008.
